Water Retention

 Water retention in the body causes cellulite and you can get rid of the extra water retention by eating foods that serve as a diuretic such as celery and certain fruits. Aside from this you will have to wait a few days until the water retention goes away and you should see less cellulite.

Not Eating The Right Foods

 Another common cause of cellulite is not eating the right foods and not drinking enough water to hydrate the body. It would be better to eat mostly fruits, vegetables, dairy foods and lean proteins.

Sedentary Behavior

 Sedentary behavior is another reason some people get cellulite and those whose jobs are sedentary are at risk of getting it. To combat sedentary behavior, you want to spend at least an hour of each day on physical activity with exercises such swimming, treadmill exercises, jogging, dancing and walking up and down the stairs for twenty minutes a day.

The Aging Process

 As you age, your skin becomes less firm and this is because you start to lose the collagen you had in your younger years. If the cellulite is a growing annoyance for you, consider a procedure such as liposuction or a laser procedure to eliminate the cellulite if you believe the cellulite is caused by aging.

Kind of Clothing You Wear

 Some people develop cellulite because of the kind of clothing they wear and how they wear it. If you wear very tight clothing you are at risk of getting cellulite on your skin. You should wear loose fitting clothing so you can avoid this condition.


 When you smoke on a regular basis, you decrease the proper functioning of your body’s connective tissues and when this happens, cellulite forms. You should quit smoking so that you will have healthier connective tissues.


 Cellulite happens to most of us but you do not have to let your self esteem fall by the wayside because of it. You can still look attractive despite your condition and with the right remedy, you can reduce the amount of cellulite you have. Before you try a certain remedy, you want to talk with your doctor to determine if it is the best for you. Cellulite creams with caffeine are sometimes recommended by doctors since caffeine is good to use in stimulating blood circulation in the body. Most importantly, you should change your eating habits and stay away from smoking and alcohol consumption. Finally, you can look into surgery if the cellulite is too much for you to handle.
